Kyle Samuelson is one of the most in demand trombonists in Wisconsin and now holds the trombone faculty position at Carroll University. He comes to Carroll with a substantial and diverse background in low brass performance. Not only does Kyle regularly perform on tenor and bass trombone, he is also regarded as one of the top low brass specialty performers in the area and is often called when euphonium or bass trumpet is needed.

Currently Kyle is the principal trombonist with the Fox Valley Symphony in Appleton, the Festival City Symphony of Milwaukee, the Racine Symphony and The Skylight. He is the second trombonist with the Green Bay Symphony and the bass trombonist with the Waukesha Symphony. Kyle performs regularly with the Milwaukee Symphony and the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra as well as the Kenosha Symphony, Bel Canto Chorus Orchestra, Present Music and the Florentine Opera.

When not performing in a symphony hall, Kyle can often be seen playing out with The Mr. Lucky Syndicate, a band that performs a mixture of Swing and R&B music, Grupo Kaña (Sugar Cane), a hot new Salsa band featuring two trombones, and Skeleton Crew, a jazz group featuring four trombones.

International artists such as Kansas, Peter Cetera, Josh Groben, Dennis DeYoung, Yes, Doobie Brothers, and Three Dog Night regularly call on Kyle to back them when on tour.

Kyle has also performed with several nationally touring Broadway productions such as The Lion King, Annie, Peter Pan and Chicago. As a recording studio session artist, Kyle has worked on several Fireside Theatre productions as well as numerous CDs for various groups.

In 2005, and again in 2008, Kyle was selected from hundreds of applicants from all over the world to participate in the prestigious Alessi Seminar which is a week-long, intensive, performance driven seminar hosted by Joseph Alessi, the principal trombonist with the New York Philharmonic.
